TAV Macedonia Welcomes Wizz Air's Seventh Aircraft based at Skopje International Airport
TAV Macedonia, part of TAV Airports and Groupe ADP, welcomes Wizz Air's decision to base a seventh aircraft at Skopje International Airport, marking another important milestone in the long-standing partnership between the airport operator and the airline while further strengthening North Macedonia's connectivity with Europe.
The addition of the seventh aircraft represents a significant step in the continued development of Skopje International Airport as the country's leading aviation hub and reflects the sustained growth of the Macedonian aviation market.
The expanded capacity will provide passengers with greater flexibility through increased frequencies on several existing routes, while also supporting the recently launched routes to Palermo and Alghero. The expansion is expected to generate more than 120,000 additional passengers and approximately 230,000 additional seats annually, contributing to the continued growth of passenger traffic at Skopje International Airport.

The continued expansion of Wizz Air's operations comes at a time of strong growth for both Macedonian airports – Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport.
During the first six months of 2026, Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport welcomed nearly 2 million passengers and handled more than 13,000 flights, representing a 28% increase in passenger traffic and a 7.6% increase in aircraft movements compared to the same period in 2025.
Skopje International Airport served more than 1.83 million passengers, while Ohrid Airport welcomed over 122,000 passengers, reflecting growing demand for air travel and Macedonia's growing role on the regional aviation map. Among the 15 airports operated by TAV Airports, TAV Macedonia has recorded the highest passenger growth during the first half of 2026.
