TAV & AEGEAN TOGETHER WITH THEIR PASSENGERS CELEBRATED THE LAUNCH OF THE NEW ROUTE SKOPJE-SARAJEVO

Tickets are available on AEGEAN website www.aegeanair.com and travel agencies

Last Night, October 2nd, TAV Airports hosted, at Skopje International Airport, a celebration for the first departing passengers on the new route Skopje-Sarajevo, launched by AEGEAN Airlines, the Greek flag carrier airline and a member of STAR ALLIANCE.

With the inaugural flight that took off from Skopje International Airport, AEGEAN started operations between the two capital cities in an ATR72-600 aircraft, with three weekly frequencies. The airline will fly from Skopje to Sarajevo every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The kind staff of the Skopje International Airport extended a warm welcome to all passengers arriving on the first flight with symbolic gifts to wish them a nice flight to the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sarajevo.

We are pleased that AEGEAN is increasing its presence on our market, with the launch of another new destination from Skopje besides Athens, and that is Sarajevo. AEGEAN will fly three times weekly from Skopje to Sarajevo and in a good connection with the existing Athens-Skopje route will facilitate a seamless travel experience  in the Balkan Area. We believe that this new air route will serve travellers’ need to quickly and comfortably reach Sarajevo from Skopje in just a bit over one hour, rather than the ground types of transportation that take long hours and mean exhausting trips between the two capitals. Now, people from Sarajevo can also take AEGEAN flight and arrive at Skopje in nearly one hour, discovering its popular sightseeing spots and cultural heritage during their city break or extended leisure travels in the country” stated Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager.

"We are pleased to celebrate today with our first passengers and selected travel agents the inauguration of our new route from Skopje to Sarajevo. With this new flight, that we soon hope to become one of the passenger’s favorite, we wish to increase connectivity and expand our presence in the Balkan area. With our high-quality services, we wish to promote interstate mobility, promote tourism and strengthen trade relationships, not only between the two countries but also between Greece. The launch of this new route is also the result of the cooperation between AEGEAN and Skopje International Airport and I would like to thank our colleagues from TAV airports for the great partnership we are having. We will continue developing our network and offer new connectivity opportunities in the region and, of course, we are looking forward to seeing you soon on board in one of our flights”.– stated Roland Jaggi, Chief Commercial Officer, AEGEAN

”It was our great pleasure to welcome the first flight of Aegean from Skopje, which landed last night at the Sarajevo International Airport. We are especially looking forward to the fact that launching this route was a result of joint and very successful cooperation between two airports -   TAV Macedonia Skopje and Sarajevo International Airport and AEGEAN, a Greek airline. We are excited that AEGEAN recognized the importance and potential of establishing this route as an excellent improvement of the communication and strengthening cooperation in the field of economy and tourism between Northern Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am convinced that the cooperation between AEGEAN and Sarajevo International Airport will be long and successful.” - said Alan Bajic, director of Sarajevo International Airport.

By the end of October, the departure time from Skopje Airport will be at 19:00h, with arrival time at Sarajevo Airport at 20:10h, whereas the departure time from Sarajevo Airport will be at 20:50h, with arrival time at Skopje Airport at 21:50h. A similar schedule will be offered also during Winter 23/24.
