TAV Airports: Skopje Airport is again one of the best airports in Europe

TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports, the airport operator, announces that Skopje International Airport has been again awarded the 2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award by the Airports Council International World (ACI).
Today, 11th March 2024, the winning airports from all continents and regions were revealed by the ACI, the renowned organization, based in Montreal, Canada.
Skopje International Airport has earned the 2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award in the category ‘Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Europe’.
In a celebration of its 9th ASQ Award, Skopje International Airport treated the passengers with sweets and enabled them to create travel memories before boarding by instant-photographing through a photo booth installed in the airport gates. The opportunity was also used to ask passengers about their opinions for Skopje Airport services.

“As an airport operator, TAV Airports is incredibly proud to announce that Skopje International Airport has been again awarded in the category ‘Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Europe’, earning this prestigious ASQ recognition by the Airport Council International. This achievement is yet another proof and testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, as well as the ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service to our passengers. We are honored to receive this recognition and remain committed to delivering an outstanding travel experience for all who pass through our airport’s gates. Certainly, the airport service quality that our passengers have recognized for the 9th time is thanks to the people working at the airport, their commitment, and that includes TAV Macedonia staff and our sister companies’ staff – BTA (F&B), ATU Duty Free, TAV Technologies (IT services), TAV MOS (Commercial services), and Euroclean (cleaning services). The voice of the passengers is heard at our airports and will be heard in the future. Meeting their needs with hospitability and creating comfortable travel experience while at our airports is our top priority.”, stated Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager.
Skopje Airport belongs to an ASQ panel of 10 airports, in the category of airports sized for 2-5 million passengers per year, which are based in Europe. Besides Skopje International Airport, the other airports that consist of this panel are the Spanish airports Madeira and Menorca, the Chilean airport Santiago, The Norwegian airports Sola and Vaernes, the Georgian Tbilisi Airport, the Estonian Tallinn Airport, the Italian Torino Airport and Zagreb Airport in Croatia.
"Congratulations to the whole team at Skopje Airport on their success in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. Your dedication to excellence in customer experience sets a benchmark for airports worldwide! Keep setting the bar high.”, stated Luis Felipe de Oliveira, Director General of ACI World.

During 2023, 595,000 surveys were collected, and 170 ASQ Awards have been won by 90 airports around the world. Categories for departures include Best Airports by Size (passengers per year) and Region, as well as Most Dedicated Staff, Easiest Airport Journey, Most Enjoyable Airport; and Cleanest Airport in Europe.

Compared to other programs in the aviation industry, the ASQ program, the world’s leading airport customer experience measurement and benchmarking program, is based on live research via surveys gathered at the airport—direct from the traveler—rating their satisfaction on the day of travel.
According to the ASQ program quota, last year, a total of 1,460 passengers were surveyed at Skopje International Airport, and the field agents that are performing the ASQ survey interviewed at least 350 passengers each quarter.

On a global level, in 2023, over half of the world’s travelers passed through an ASQ airport underscoring the program's credibility and influence in shaping the standards for exceptional airport services.

TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports finished January and February 2024 with 243,244 passengers at both Macedonian airports – Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, which is an increase of 47% compared to January and February 2023.
